accepting help

If it's offered, accept,. if it's needed, ask...should be simple but in times of trauma we may refuse it just when we would appreciate it most. Make lists, delegate and prep while you are able. Meals, rides and other support makes the journey a little lighter.

exercise

Make the effort everyday, even if only a few minutes. Staying active helps move the treatments and medications through the system, while helping to maintain muscle mass, oxygenate blood and get the heart rate up. Exercise is a great gage as to the state of your physicality. Ahhh...fill those lungs with some fresh clean air and feel your chest expand with the natural movement.

Walking is a fabulous option. Set a measured route in distance or time...remember to include the return, Walking your neighbourhood block may provide rest stops and social engagement as well. A treadmill will keep you moving indoors, or simply walking the halls or doing laps around your kitchen island!

medicines

Medications are sometimes a necessity. Take as prescribed or when needed. They may be provided for initial pain relief and to keep infection at bay. Work WITH your oncology team, family GP or other chosen  practitioners to determine contraindications and the "best for you" solutions.
